Beans and Rice, Rice and Beans

Dried rice and beans being durable and easy to travel with, it is some of the only food I have to work with. Luckily it's pretty versatile. Some plain leftover brown rice in the fridge to keep company with the beans I always like to keep in the fridge is the beginning of many a good meal.
Yesterday, I mixed the beans and rice together with the leftover travel-salsa, shredded some sharp cheddar on top, and had a pretty good dinner. (cold, this works great for a packed lunch, just mix together your leftovers from taco dinner, after a few hours marinating, it's fantastic!)
Today, I mixed a cup each of the rice and beans with a canned pigeon (but some plain stock would work), and some chopped chard (any other vegie would work too). After a brief simmer and an adjusting of seasonings, it was quite a respectable dinner!
I would post pictures, but my camera is still packed somewhere.
